BUCYRUS — Two Bucyrus residents who were arrested in March as part of a narcotics investigation were recently sentenced in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.

Carl D. Vanbuskirk, 44, pleaded guilty to several fourth-degree felony trafficking in drugs charges and was sentenced to six years in prison. Jessica R. Sutter, 45, pleaded guilty to two trafficking in drugs charges and was sentenced to five years of probation. Two other charges and a second case against her were dismissed.

Sutter and Vanbuskirk were arrested in March after Bucyrus Police officers searched their residence in the 600 block of East Rensselaer Street and seized narcotics sale ledgers, cellphones, several dozen oxycodone/alprazolam pills, cocaine and drug paraphernalia.

A Crestline man was sentenced to a decade in prison during a change-of-plea hearing in Common Pleas Court last week. Johnathan R. Pasco, 34, pleaded guilty to two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, both third-degree felonies, and was sentenced to five years in prison on each charge. The sentences are to be served consecutively for a total of 10 years. Upon his release, Pasco will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender and report to the sheriff’s office in the county where he resides every six months for 25 years.

Another Crestline man was found guilty of rape charges by a jury and is awaiting sentencing. Bradley E. Heater, 58, was found guilty of eight rape charges, all first-degree felonies, and one count of intimidation of a victim, a third-degree felony. His $1 million bond was continued until sentencing. Heater could be sentenced to more than 90 years in prison. He is represented by Bucyrus attorney Andrew Motter.

A Bucyrus woman is heading to prison after pleading guilty to two charges during a recent change-of-plea hearing. Perfect Engelberger, 62, pleaded guilty to one count of tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony, and one count of possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. She was sentenced to three years in prison.

A Bucyrus man was also sentenced to time in prison last week. Shannon E. Michener, 49, pleaded guilty to one count of burglary, a second-degree felony, and was sentenced to two years in prison. He will receive credit for 68 days he has already served in jail.
