As of early Monday morning, May 11, a heavy law enforcement presence remains centered around the 900 block of East Warren Street. The situation, which has kept neighbors on edge for hours, involves an armed suspect who has reportedly fired gunshots at responding officers.
Court documents filed at 7:41 AM this morning in the Crawford County Common Pleas Court identify the barricaded individual as Paul Desmarais. The State of Ohio, through Assistant Prosecutor Daniel J. Stanley, has filed an emergency motion to revoke Desmarais’s bond (Case No: 26-CR-00112). According to the filing, Desmarais is currently under indictment and in possession of firearms—a direct violation of his legal status. The motion explicitly states that the defendant “has fired gunshots at police” during this ongoing incident.

A S.W.A.T. tactical vehicle was deployed early in the standoff, and by 6:40 AM, a specialized “Rook” armored vehicle was observed being transported into the area near the intersection of E.
