From the Bench: Municipal Court Roundup, Sept. 29 – Oct. 3, 2025

Bucyrus Municipal Court handled another busy week of cases, featuring OVI convictions, theft, resisting arrest, drug offenses, and driving violations. The court continued its focus on treatment-based sentencing and probation enforcement.


OVI & Driving Offenses

Orlando R. Rogers, 49, Marion — pleaded guilty to reckless operation, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He was fined $250 plus $213 in court costs and sentenced to six days in jail.

Kent A. Laughbaum, 60, Galion — pleaded guilty to physical control of a vehicle while under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor. Laughbaum was fined $300 plus $325 in costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail, suspended on condition of no drug or alcohol use and random testing.

Jennifer M. Brooks, 43, Crestline — pleaded guilty to physical control, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was fined $300, assessed $365 in costs, and sentenced to 180 days in jail, suspended, with probation conditions including random drug tests and searches.

John C. Powell, 61, Bucyrus — pleaded guilty to OVI under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor. He was fined $565 plus $360 in costs and sentenced to 180 days in jail, with 177 suspended. His license was suspended for one year, and he must abstain from alcohol and drugs with random testing.

Daytona C. Swartz, 31, Delaware — pleaded guilty to physical control, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was fined $200, paid $300 in costs, and sentenced to 180 days in jail, all suspended under probation terms requiring random drug testing and searches.

Peter A. Keller, 29, Shelby — pleaded guilty to OVI under the influence, a first-degree misdemeanor. Keller was fined $565 plus $335 in costs, sentenced to 180 days in jail with 177 suspended, and his license was suspended for one year. He must complete a driver-intervention program and alcohol/drug assessment.

Kamden Agee, 18, Bucyrus — pleaded guilty to displaying a fictitious registration, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He was fined $150 and ordered to pay $210 in court costs.

Brooke E. Graves, 32, Galion — pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree misdemeanor for displaying a fictitious registration. She was found guilty and ordered to pay court costs.

Kindra L. Burnett, 46, Galion — pleaded guilty to driving under suspension, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was fined $50 and assessed $285 in court costs, with a 10-day jail term imposed.


Assault & Resisting Arrest

Brandon T. Pridemore, 31, Mansfield — pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and obstructing official business, both second-degree misdemeanors. He was fined $200 and assessed $360 in costs, with 90-day jail terms on each count suspended under probation conditions prohibiting alcohol or drug use.


Theft

Lacy M. Jackson, 39, Galion — pleaded guilty in two separate first-degree misdemeanor theft cases. In each, she was fined $25 and sentenced to 180 days in jail, suspended, and ordered to pay restitution and have no contact with the victims.

Angeline M. Roof, 49, Galion — pleaded guilty to theft, a first-degree misdemeanor. She was fined $25 plus $285 in costs and sentenced to 10 days in jail, suspended, with a no-contact order issued to the Galion Dollar General store.


Disorderly Conduct

Carrie A. Hill, 49, Galion — pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. She was fined $50 and assessed $453 in costs. Her 30-day jail sentence was suspended.


Drug Offenses

Eric W. Cameron, 39, Bucyrus — pleaded guilty to possession of drug abuse instruments, a second-degree misdemeanor. He was fined $500, sentenced to 90 days in jail with 60 suspended, and ordered to complete a certified drug/alcohol program and inpatient rehabilitation upon release. He must remain drug- and alcohol-free with random testing and searches.


Felony Bindovers

Nayely E. Perezlemus, 24, Delaware — charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The case was bound over to the Crawford County Common Pleas Court for possible felony charges.

Raymond D. Kroninger, 38, Cardington — charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. The case was bound over to common pleas court.
