CHESTER TOWNSHIP — The Morrow County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a violent incident that left a 75-year-old woman dead and a man fighting for his life following a stabbing on Wednesday evening.
Deputies were dispatched to a rural residence in Chester Township at approximately 6:50 p.m. after receiving a 911 call reporting the attack. Upon arrival, authorities discovered Sandra Fisher, 75, deceased inside the home. A second victim, an unidentified male, was found at the scene with multiple stab wounds. After receiving initial treatment from Morrow County EMS, he was transported to OhioHealth Morrow County Hospital and subsequently airlifted to a Columbus trauma center.
Morrow County Sheriff John Hinton confirmed that the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) was called to the scene to assist detectives with forensic processing. While authorities have not yet released information regarding a suspect or a motive, the Sheriff’s Office emphasized that they do not believe there is a broader threat to the public.
The fatal incident occurred during a particularly difficult stretch for local first responders; on Tuesday morning, 43-year-old John A. Walker of Mount Gilead was killed in a two-vehicle collision in Peru Township. The Sheriff’s Office is expected to release more details as the investigation progresses and the status of the surviving victim is updated.
