Letter To The Editor: Bar School Wisdom — No Degree, Just the Truth

The Community Published: April 14, 2025 | Updated: April 17, 2025 2 minutes read

I never thought I would have to explain how I use words in my vernacular. But here we are. I’ll start with “Bar School.”

I’ve shared many glasses of Coke at a table with a WWII gentleman who fought in the Battle of the Bulge. If you were a friend of his—which there were many—he would share stories that will never see the inside of a textbook. That is Bar School.

I saw comments on that CCN story like, “Is that guy off his meds?” and “He needs another Big Mac and fries.” There were only a few like that—no big deal. The majority had the same feeling I do: we’ve had enough.

Right now, Galion and Bucyrus are sharing a $1.1 million grant (CHIP Act) that came from the state, being handled by Crawford County and distributed to Galion and Bucyrus. That’s my money. Yes, I don’t vote on Bucyrus city issues—I vote here in Galion.

Galion’s City Council meeting the other night lasted, I believe, about 34 minutes or so, with four to six people watching. Business was done, and everyone went home. We didn’t blow up a comment section on Facebook after it was announced that comments would be shut down.

I never claimed to have extensive legal knowledge—but I did say I have Bar School knowledge. I’ve sat in on hundreds of those throughout this county. I would listen to some… and some you really didn’t want to listen to—lol.

Enjoy your days, and thank you to FreeWire for the opportunity to submit a Letter to the Editor.
