
CRAWFORD COUNTY – A three-vehicle collision on US-30 claimed the life of one woman and left two others in critical condition late Saturday morning. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls reporting the crash at approximately 11:09 a.m. on May 2, 2026. The incident occurred on US-30, just east of State Route 598.
According to Sheriff Scott M. Kent, all casualties and injuries occurred within a single vehicle. Emergency responders arriving at the scene confirmed that one female passenger was deceased. Two other male passengers from the same vehicle sustained life-threatening injuries and are currently listed in critical condition. Two juvenile males in the vehicle were treated for minor injuries, while the driver emerged from the wreckage unhurt. All injured parties were transported to OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital for further treatment and evaluation. The three occupants of the other two vehicles involved were not injured.
The crash prompted a massive response from local emergency services, including the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Crestline Fire Department, Galion Fire Department, Jefferson Township Fire Department, and the Crawford County Coroner’s Office. The Ohio State Highway Patrol, including the Motor Carrier Enforcement Unit, and the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) also assisted at the scene. While one vehicle required removal by Ronks Towing, the other two involved vehicles remained functional and were driven from the scene.
The highway remained a focal point for investigators throughout the afternoon. At this time, the names of those involved have not been released pending notification of next of kin. The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office stated that the crash remains under investigation and no further details are available at this time.
