BUCYRUS — The Crawford County Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) has packed up and moved after more than 30 years at its long-time home in the Southern Lights Shopping Center.
The office officially reopened its doors at 1315 E. Mansfield St. in the Whetstone Plaza on Aug. 25.
Deputy Registrar Ganeen Hult said the decision to relocate came after the lease expired at the old site.
“We wanted to be closer to the new Crawford County Title Office and the new salvage office,” she said.
The Crawford County Title Office, once located alongside the BMV at Southern Lights, made its own move earlier this year to 2538 E. Mansfield St., now sharing space with the Crawford County Recycling Center.
While some residents voiced frustration that the two agencies are no longer under the same roof, Hult believes the new spot still offers convenience.
“We are very happy with our new location,” she said. “We are now more central for everyone.”
The BMV will continue operating with the same hours:
- Monday through Friday: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. to noon
“I hope everyone loves our new office as much as we do,” Hult added.
