BUCYRUS—A Crestline man charged with the murders of his parents is facing additional charges after incidents allegedly occurred with staff at the Crawford County Justice Center.

Maxwell Anatra, 24, who is already facing 11 counts in connection with the incident that took place at the home of his parents, Lisa and Lindsey Anatra, on Nov. 18, has been indicted by the Crawford County grand jury on six counts in a separate case.

The indictment alleges that on Jan. 2, Anatra caused or attempted to cause physical harm to a Crawford County Sheriff’s deputy, a sergeant, and two correctional officers, and made threats against the deputy. It is also alleged that he caused or attempted to cause physical harm to yet another correctional officer on Jan. 17.

Anatra is currently being housed at the Crawford County Justice Center and has been formally charged with one count of fourth-degree assault, four counts of fifth-degree felony assault, and one misdemeanor charge of aggravated menacing.

As in Anatra’s original case, Crawford County Common Pleas Judge Sean Leuthold has recused himself; the new case will be overseen by Visiting Judge Daniel T. Hogan of Franklin County by assignment from the Ohio Supreme Court. Lisa Anatra was previously employed as a domestic relations case manager at the Crawford County Courthouse under Leuthold.

Anatra is scheduled to appear via video in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on Feb. 4 at 1 p.m. to be arraigned on the new charges. He is being represented by Mansfield attorney James Mayer III.

Charges in Anatra’s original case include:

  • Two counts of aggravated murder and two counts of murder (unclassified felonies).
  • Three counts of aggravated burglary and one count of aggravated robbery (first-degree felonies, one with a gun specification).
  • Two counts of theft of a firearm and one count of tampering with evidence (third-degree felonies, two with gun specifications).
