Friday night lights are back, and Crawford County fans have plenty to look forward to this week. From Colonel Crawford’s undefeated run to Crestline’s rare Saturday afternoon kickoff, every program in the area has something at stake. Here’s a look at the matchups.

Bucyrus at Colonel Crawford (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) – The Eagles head into this Friday night’s game undefeated (5-0) and heavy favorites. Colonel Crawford’s rugged defense and high-powered offense have dominated county foes – in their latest outing the Eagles cruised to a 42-0 halftime lead en route to a blowout win. Meanwhile, Bucyrus (1-4, 0-2 in league play) is still chasing consistency after an early-season win. The Redmen will need a big turnaround on the road. This game at Colonel Crawford High School in North Robinson should hinge on whether Bucyrus can spark its offense and slow down C.C.’s balanced attack.

Wynford at Carey (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) – The Royals (1-4, 0-2 N10) travel to Carey looking to turn their season around. Wynford’s lone win came against East Knox, but the defense has been tested hard in league play, giving up 62 to Seneca East and 44 to Upper Sandusky. Carey enters at 2-3 overall, 2-0 in conference, fresh off back-to-back wins over Upper Sandusky (33-7) and Seneca East (20-14). The Blue Devils are atop the N10 standings and will lean on their ground game to control tempo. For Wynford, finishing drives and protecting the football will be the keys to staying competitive.

Buckeye Central at Mohawk (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) – Buckeye Central (3-2) heads on the road to Sycamore to meet Mohawk (4-1) in a big Northern 10 showdown. The Bucks opened with wins over Crestline (22-7) and South Central (34-7), stumbled against Harding (47-6), bounced back against Bucyrus (34-13), then fell to Colonel Crawford (42-8). Mohawk’s only blemish came in a 24-21 heartbreaker to Colonel Crawford. Last week, the Warriors bounced back by hammering Bucyrus 62-7. Buckeye’s offense has shown balance, but they’ll face a stiff test against Mohawk’s defense and run-heavy attack. Expect a physical battle with both teams trying to stay in the thick of the league race.

Galion vs Highland (Friday, 7:00 p.m.) – Galion (3-2) hosts the Highland Fighting Scots (2-3) in a key non-conference game. The Tigers rebounded from a 45-34 loss to Shelby by shutting out Ontario 7-0 last week. Galion’s offensive line and senior backfield have been reliable, while its defense has been stout when needed. Highland has battled inconsistency — they’ve beaten Coshocton (16-7) and Marion Harding (12-6) but were blown out 48-0 by Shelby. Friday’s game at Jack Leader Field could come down to turnovers and special teams. A Tigers win would keep them on track for a strong fall push; an upset would boost Highland’s confidence.

Crestline vs Manchester (Saturday, 4:00 p.m.) – Crestline (3-2) hosts a rare Saturday game, taking on unbeaten Manchester (5-0). The Bulldogs have already shown improvement this season, matching their win total from last year. Manchester, meanwhile, has been rolling, outscoring its last two opponents 90-12 and shutting out Vanlue 48-0 last week. The Greyhounds’ speed and depth will be a challenge, but Crestline will lean on its improving offense and home-field crowd. A 4 p.m. kickoff gives the Bulldogs a showcase opportunity. To pull the upset, Crestline will need to control tempo and limit big plays.

The Bottom Line

From Colonel Crawford’s perfect run to Crestline’s Saturday showcase, Week 6 is packed with storylines. Bucyrus and Wynford are both chasing statement wins, Buckeye Central faces a critical test at Mohawk, Galion looks to keep climbing, and Crestline has a chance to shock unbeaten Manchester. No matter where you go, it’s another exciting weekend of football in Crawford County.
