Friday night lights once again produced a full slate of drama for Crawford County teams. Colonel Crawford kept its unbeaten streak alive, Carey rolled, Mohawk impressed on Homecoming, Galion delivered another shutout, and Crestline stunned an unbeaten opponent. Here’s how the week unfolded across the county.

Bucyrus at Colonel Crawford
Colonel Crawford stayed perfect with a dominant 48–0 win over Bucyrus on Sept. 26. The Eagles’ defense allowed just 27 rushing yards, while their offense piled up 460 total yards, 392 of them on the ground. They improved to 6–0 (3–0 Northern 10), while Bucyrus slipped to 1–5 (0–3). Connor McMichael led the way with 181 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries, and Avery Powers added a 48-yard TD run. Scoring went like this:

  • Q1: McMichael 10-yard run (PAT failed) – 6–0
  • Q2: Roen Thew 20-yard run, Peyton Baker 17-yard TD pass to Parker Weithman – 20–0 at half
  • Q3: McMichael 66- and 26-yard runs plus Thew’s 11-yard TD – 41–0
  • Q4: Powers 48-yard run – 48–0 final
Bucyrus quarterback Isaac Makeever finished 16-of-34 for 96 yards. Colonel Crawford forced multiple turnovers and used 12 different ball carriers in the rout.

Wynford at Carey
Carey kept its conference lead with a 58–7 blowout of Wynford. The Blue Devils (3–3, 3–0 Northern 10) scored in every quarter and surpassed 500 yards of offense, while Wynford (1–5, 0–3) managed only a late touchdown. Local reports praised Carey’s balanced attack and swarming defense as the key to their third straight win.

Buckeye Central at Mohawk
Mohawk gave its Homecoming crowd plenty to cheer about with a 48–0 shutout of Buckeye Central. The Warriors (5–1, 2–1 N10) built a 35-0 halftime lead and coasted, while the Bucks dropped to 3–3 (1–2).

  • Q1: 48-yard TD pass from Andon Clouse to Levi Tiell and 1-yard TD run by Kaden Bish – 14–0
  • Q2: Bish 6-yard run, Clouse 25-yard TD pass to Brant Kirian, Clouse 1-yard QB keeper – 35–0 at half
  • Q3: Owen Patrizi 6-yard run – 42–0
  • Q4: Aden Patrizi 1-yard run – 48–0 final
Clouse went 6-of-11 for 146 yards and two TD passes and added a rushing score. Bish had 96 yards and two touchdowns on 11 carries. Tiell (2-94, 1 TD) and Kirian (4-52, 1 TD) made big plays. Mohawk’s defense forced six turnovers and held Buckeye Central to just 21 total yards. Coach Eric Daniel praised the Warriors’ fast start and consistent effort.

Galion vs Highland
Galion’s defense registered its second consecutive shutout in a 35–0 win over Highland. The Tigers improved to 5–1 (2–1 MOAC) while the Scots fell to 2–4 (1–2). After a scoreless first quarter, Galion scored 14 points in both the second and third periods and added seven more in the fourth to seal it. Reports credit the Tigers’ veteran line, balanced offense and swarming defense for the win.

Crestline vs Manchester (Saturday)
Crestline stunned previously unbeaten Manchester with a 48–12 victory at home Saturday night. The Bulldogs improved to 4–2 (2–0 Patriot) and handed the Greyhounds their first loss (now 5–1). Manchester scored first, but Crestline erupted for 48 unanswered points. Junior running back Quentin Kapp tied a school record with five rushing touchdowns, and the defense forced six turnovers (five interceptions and a fumble). It was Crestline’s first win over a team with a winning record since 2018 and a major statement for the program.

The Bottom Line

From Colonel Crawford’s domination to Crestline’s signature win, Week 6 delivered one big storyline after another. Carey cemented its place atop the N10, Mohawk wowed its Homecoming crowd, Galion kept rolling, and Crestline gave its fans a Saturday to remember.
