David Holdcraft Pleads Guilty to Three Counts of Child Rape

BUCYRUS, OH — David Holdcraft, 31, formerly of Bucyrus, pleaded guilty Monday in Crawford County Common Pleas Court to three counts of first-degree felony rape of a child under the age of 10.

Holdcraft is already serving a 24-year prison sentence for child pornography offenses and now faces three additional life sentences without the possibility of parole. As part of his plea agreement, a charge of gross sexual imposition was dropped.

Crawford County Common Pleas Court Judge Sean Leuthold has ordered a pre-sentence investigation and will review video evidence before determining Holdcraft’s sentence. He remains held in Crawford County Jail on a $1 million bond, with sentencing expected in the coming weeks.

If the judge rules the new sentences to be served consecutively rather than concurrently, Holdcraft could serve over 100 years in prison when combined with his existing sentence.

Dustin Swartz Faces Pretrial for Sex Crime Against a Minor

In a separate case, Dustin Edward Allen Swartz has been indicted on one count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, a second-degree felony.

Swartz was formally indicted on February 15, 2024, and has had three pretrial hearings thus far. His most recent pretrial was on March 3, 2025. His case remains ongoing.

Bucyrus Traffic Stop Leads to Meth Seizure, Woman Arrested

In an unrelated case, Bridget Carnes, 44, of Bucyrus, was arrested after a traffic stop on February 27 uncovered 11.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine.

At 11:37 p.m., officers stopped Carnes in the 600 block of South Sandusky Avenue for driving with a suspended license.

During the stop, officers developed reasonable suspicion of criminal activity and deployed K9 Capone, who alerted to the presence of narcotics. A search of the vehicle revealed three bags containing approximately 7 grams of methamphetamine.

Once booked into the Crawford County Justice Center, authorities discovered another 4.5 grams of methamphetamine hidden on her person during intake.

She is now facing multiple felony charges, including:

-Trafficking in Drugs (F-4)

-Possession of Schedule I or II Drugs (F-3)

-Illegal Conveyance into a Detention Facility (F-3)

Bucyrus Drug Bust: 21 Grams of Meth Seized Near School

Another meth bust occurred on March 3, 2025, at 9:13 PM, when officers pulled over Lisa Beachy, 53, of Bucyrus, on Woodlawn Avenue near Wiley Street.

During the stop, officers found 1 gram of methamphetamine on Beachy. After further investigation, they obtained a search warrant for her residence on Hopley Avenue, where they found an additional 20 grams of meth and drug paraphernalia.

Because her home is near Bucyrus Elementary School, authorities have requested aggravating circumstances be added to her charges, which currently include:

-Trafficking in Drugs (F-2)

-Possession of Drugs (F-2)

-Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M-4)

Beachy remains in custody at the Crawford County Justice Center, awaiting her first court appearance.

Authorities continue to investigate all four cases, and FreeWire will provide updates as more information becomes available.
