Wynford High School junior Bryce Locker is the definition of determination. Whether he’s on the football field, competing in track and powerlifting, or pushing himself academically, Bryce thrives in an environment where hard work pays off.

A former Bucyrus student, Bryce found his place at Wynford, where he embraced the challenge of competition and personal growth. Football is his passion—not just for the game itself, but for the camaraderie that comes with it. “It’s like going into battle every game,” Bryce said. “I love the environment, the energy, and how we push each other to be better.” Track and powerlifting play a major role in his training, helping him build strength and endurance for football. “Powerlifting helps tremendously with football,” he said. “It pushes me to my limits, and I love how everyone hypes each other up while still competing.” That determination and motivation recently paid off at the state powerlifting meet—an accomplishment that didn’t go unnoticed by his biggest fan. “He took 4th place at state in powerlifting,” his grandmother Anita Smith said. “I’m very proud.”

Bryce is also no stranger to hard work outside of sports. He spent time as a lifeguard at Aumiller Pool last summer, enjoying the chance to work outdoors, swim on breaks, and make memories with coworkers. His drive to stay busy and productive keeps him motivated.

In the classroom, Bryce enjoys any class taught by Mrs. Wheeler, crediting her for making learning engaging. His ultimate goal is to be successful, whether that means playing football at the next level or pursuing a future in the military. When asked what advice he’d give to younger athletes, Bryce emphasized the importance of commitment. “It’s not always easy,” he said. “You have to love it and stay motivated.”

Bryce comes from a supportive family, his grandmother Anita Smith, and his siblings, Logan and Ronni. With his determination and competitive spirit, there’s no doubt that he will tackle whatever comes next with the same energy and drive that defines him on and off the field.

Bryce is a remarkable kid and he has always had the support of his hole family (mom) Sara Stewart and (dad) Anthony Locker also his sister Ronni Locker and brother Logan Locker. His nephew Jayce Locker has also been right there watching Bryce and can’t wait to grow up to be the strongest most athletic kid ever.
