BUCYRUS — A Bucyrus man is being held on a $500,000 bond after appearing in court Tuesday on a charge of first-degree felony rape.
Bradley Eugene Heater stood before Judge Shane Leuthold in Crawford County Municipal Court, where Leuthold entered a not guilty plea on Heater’s behalf and appointed attorney Andrew Motter to represent him.
The charge—rape, a first-degree felony—carries a potential prison sentence of up to life if convicted. Details about the alleged incident have not yet been released, and it remains unclear whether additional charges could follow.
Given the severity of the accusation and potential risk to the public, Judge Leuthold set bond at $500,000. Heater remains in custody at the Crawford County Justice Center.
