Jacob E. Diosi, 38, Galion, changed his plea to guilty on one count of breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony. A charge of criminal damaging or endangering, a second-degree misdemeanor, was dismissed. The charges stemmed from a Nov. 23, 2025 incident at AMVETS Post 1979 in Galion.
The breaking and entering charge carried a possible sentence of six to 12 months in prison and a fine of up to $2,500.
Judge Sean E. Leuthold sentenced Diosi to six months in the Crawford County Justice Center, with 50 days of jail-time credit. He was also ordered to pay court costs and forfeit all drug-related property to the Bucyrus Police Department.
Rusty D. Hunter, 48, of Bucyrus, was indicted Nov. 4 in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on charges stemming from a Nov. 1, 2025 incident.
According to the indictment, Hunter was charged with one count of strangulation, a third-degree felony, for knowingly causing or creating a substantial risk of physical harm to a family or household member by means of strangulation or suffocation. The indictment also noted that Hunter had a prior felony offense of violence conviction in Common Pleas Court in 1998.
Hunter was also indicted on one count of domestic violence, a third-degree felony, for knowingly causing or attempting to cause physical harm to a family or household member.
On Jan. 21, Hunter changed his plea to guilty to a lesser charge of domestic violence. The strangulation count was dismissed. The domestic violence charge carries a potential sentence of six to 12 months in prison and a $2,500 fine.
Judge Sean E. Leuthold sentenced Hunter to two years of probation. As part of his sentence, he is required to complete drug and alcohol treatment and anger management/domestic violence counseling. He was represented by attorney Joel Spitzer.
Hettie M. Armstrong, 37, of Chillicothe, was indicted July 30, 2024, in Crawford County Common Pleas Court on one count of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, a fifth-degree felony.
Armstrong was arrested until Jan. 19, 2026, and was arraigned the following day before Judge Sean E. Leuthold. The court appointed James Blunt as defense counsel, who entered a not guilty plea on her behalf.
Judge Leuthold set bond at $20,000 cash or surety. Armstrong remains incarcerated at the Crawford County Justice Center.
Deborah Greene, 68, of Galion, was indicted Dec. 16, 2025, in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
Greene faces three fifth-degree felony charges: one count of permitting drug abuse and two counts of possession of drugs. The alleged offenses occurred between Oct. 1 and Dec. 5, 2025, in Crawford County.
Greene was arraigned Jan. 12 before Judge Sean E. Leuthold. The court appointed Cassandra Buckner as defense counsel. Greene entered a not guilty plea and was released on a personal recognizance bond with conditions.
Bond conditions include that Greene shall not possess or use alcohol or drugs of abuse, shall not possess drug paraphernalia, and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
