BUCYRUS — A Galion woman is facing felony charges after a Crawford County grand jury returned a two-count indictment tied to drugs and alleged evidence tampering.
Karla Lynn Gantz, 59, was indicted during the Dec. 16, 2025 session of the Crawford County Common Pleas Court. The charges stem from an incident that allegedly occurred on or about Dec. 4, 2025.
Gantz is charged with tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony. Prosecutors allege she knowingly altered, destroyed, concealed, or removed a record, document, or item while aware that an official investigation or proceeding was underway or likely to occur, with the intent to impair its value as evidence.
She is also charged with aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony. According to the indictment, Gantz knowingly possessed methamphetamine, a Schedule II controlled substance.
Gantz was arraigned Dec. 31, 2025, before Judge Sean Leuthold. She appeared with court-appointed attorney Madison Garverick and entered not guilty pleas to both charges.
Judge Leuthold set bond at $35,000 cash or surety. If bond is posted, Gantz is prohibited from having any contact with Anthony Scenters, 62, whom FreeWire confirmed with Crawford County Prosecutor Matt Crall Gantz was with at the time of his arrest earlier in December.
Scenters was booked into the Crawford County Justice Center on December 4, 2025 and is facing multiple felony charges, including two counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs, multiple counts of drug possession, and tampering with evidence, his bond was set at $175,000 cash or surety.
On Jan. 5, 2026, Gantz waived her right to a speedy trial and requested the case be scheduled for a jury trial.
As of this report, both Gantz and Scenters remain incarcerated at the Crawford County Justice Center.
