The Colonel Crawford Eagles capped an impressive 9–1 regular season and will take the field at home Friday night against the Eastern Eagles of Reedsville (7–3). Reedsville, a small town south of Athens along the Ohio River. This sets the stage for a true Eagle vs. Eagle showdown, who will soar higher?
Colonel Crawford Season Highlights:
•Dominant Defense: The Eagles showcased their defensive prowess with multiple shutouts, including a commanding 48–0 victory over Bucyrus on September 26.
•High-Scoring Offense: Colonel Crawford’s offense was explosive, averaging over 36 points per game, highlighted by a season high 50 point performance against Wynford on October 24.
•Key Victories: Notable wins include a 42–7 triumph over Fairbanks in the season opener and a decisive 42–8 win against Buckeye Central on September 19.
•Resilience: Despite a 24–14 loss to Carey on October 10, the Eagles bounced back with consecutive wins, demonstrating their determination and adaptability.
We spoke with Colonel Crawford Athletic Director Jake Bruner about how far the team has come this season and what he expects in the playoffs. He said, “We hope we are continuing to improve and hitting our stride as we start into playoff football. I expect us to continue to improve as we take each week as a blessing and try to keep this season going as long as we can. It’s been a special one this far.”
