BUCYRUS, OH — Community leaders Fred Fischer, Treasurer, and Mark Makeever, Chairman, have announced the formation of the Bucyrus First Political Action Committee (PAC), a new nonpartisan organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for Bucyrus residents.
The PAC’s mission is to support candidates and projects that emphasize accountability, transparency, and long-term community betterment. Bucyrus First PAC will accept contributions from individuals of up to $5,000, though contributions from corporations and businesses are not permitted. Contributions to the PAC are not tax deductible.
“Bucyrus First PAC is about making sure the people of our city come first,” said Fischer. “We’re committed to backing leaders and initiatives that keep Bucyrus strong and help shape a brighter future for our community.”
First Event: Candidate Meet & Greet at Baker’s Pizza
As its first public event, Bucyrus First PAC will host a Candidate Meet & Greet on Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, from 6:00–8:00 PM at Baker’s Pizza in the newly remodeled “Shack” room.
- Beginning at 6:30 PM, each candidate will be given five minutes to share their vision and priorities.
- Citizens will be able to hear directly from candidates and engage in discussion.
- Attendance is free, though personal contributions to Bucyrus First PAC will be accepted.
Looking Ahead
In the near term, the PAC will evaluate and support candidates who align with its mission. Longer term, Bucyrus First PAC plans to explore support for state-level races and local projects that will strengthen Bucyrus for future generations.
