The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office is committed to conducting a thorough criminal investigation of into the death of 31-year-old Morrow County Sheriff’s deputy Daniel Sherrer. Dep. Sherrer was killed in the line of duty on Memorial Day, May 26, 2025.
“We stand beside Sheriff John Hinton, the entire Morrow County Sheriff’s Office, and the Morrow County community. In addition to investigating this tragedy, as fellow peace officers, we will continue to lend support to our thin blue line family,” said Delaware County Sheriff Jeff Balzer.
53-year-old Brian Michael Wilson, of Morrow County, has been charged with aggravated murder in the death of Deputy Daniel Sherrer. This is a felony in the first degree. Wilson remains in the hospital today and is in our custody.
