Student Spotlight: Izzy Tuttle’s World of Art and Creativity
With a paintbrush in one hand and a sketchpad in the other, 15-year-old Izzy Tuttle is always creating. Whether she’s designing jewelry, painting vivid scenes, or twirling flags with the high school color guard, her creativity knows no bounds. A freshman at Bucyrus High School (BHS), she is the daughter of Dan and Michelle Tuttle and big sister to Mikey. Izzy enjoys drawing, painting, and crafting unique jewelry pieces. She is also a member of the sings on the praise team at Real Life Nazarene Church in Galion. When she’s a junior, she hopes to attend Pioneer Career & Technology Center to further explore her artistic passions with graphic arts or culinary arts.
The Heart of Creativity
Izzy’s creative spirit isn’t just a hobby — it’s a way of expressing herself. Her artwork reflects her love for bold imagery and storytelling, bringing emotions and characters to life on canvas. One of her latest pieces, The Phantom, is inspired by The Phantom of the Opera, showcasing her appreciation for theatrical and dramatic themes.

Beyond art, Izzy also designs jewelry, creating intricate pieces that showcase her craftsmanship and keen eye for detail. She has recently submitted some of her work for FreeWire to spotlight, offering a glimpse into her creative world.

A Furry Family Full of Personality
When she’s not painting or designing jewelry, Izzy is surrounded by her second passion — her furry family. Each of her pets has their own personality, making life at home lively and entertaining.
• Dean, a sleek black cat and Izzy’s absolute baby, is a master at hiding — most days, he’s nowhere to be found.
• Sammy, on the other hand, is all personality, with a round belly and a heart full of love. “He’s fat on fat,” Izzy laughs, “but he makes up for it by being the sweetest one in the house.”
• Queso, the self-proclaimed princess of the group, prefers solitude and can often be found hiding in the strangest places.
• Jamie, the only dog in the mix, is loud, energetic, and just a little goofy. She even rolled in the snow recently, proving just how playful she can be.
Together, they create a chaotic yet lovable furry family that keeps Izzy entertained every day.

A Friendship That Makes BHS Feel Like Home
While BHS offers plenty of opportunities, Izzy says the best part of school is her best friend, Shyloh.
“She makes my day better than I can ever imagine,” Izzy shares. “Whenever she’s not around, I feel it — I get sad because it’s just not the same without her.” Their friendship brings joy and connection to every school day, making high school more than just classes and extracurriculars — it’s a place where meaningful friendships are built.

What’s Next for Izzy?
Between her love for art, her dedication to color guard, and the joy she finds in spending time with her best friend, Izzy is constantly finding new ways to express herself. Whether she’s sketching, creating jewelry, or spending time with those who matter most, Izzy Tuttle is always adding color to the world around her. And with her talent and passion, there’s no doubt she’ll continue creating beautiful things for years to come.
