Bucyrus, OH – A 17-year-old girl missing from Pennsylvania was found safe Saturday night at a residence just outside Bucyrus, and multiple people are now facing criminal charges in connection with her disappearance.
Isabella Phillips, who was last seen Friday morning walking near Glen Eden and Zeigler Roads in New Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania, was the focus of an extensive multi-state search involving more than two dozen law enforcement and search and rescue agencies.
On Saturday around 2:00 p.m., Bucyrus Police were notified that a suspect believed to be connected to her disappearance had been spotted at a local fast food restaurant. Officer Devin Wireman responded and assisted a Pennsylvania investigator in interviewing the individual. Authorities soon determined the suspect had traveled from Ohio to Pennsylvania to pick up the teen.
The FBI’s Mansfield office and the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) were contacted and joined the case. Around 9:30 p.m., Phillips was found safe at the suspect’s home just outside city limits. The suspect was immediately taken into custody.
New Sewickley Township Police Chief Gregory Carney confirmed that several individuals are now facing criminal charges, though their names have not yet been released. Officials say the scope of the investigation and the resources deployed—spanning volunteer K9 teams, air search units, and multiple state and federal agencies—warrant additional legal consequences for those involved.
In total, more than 25 organizations participated in the search and recovery effort, including the FBI, U.S. Marshals, Secret Service, multiple K9 and drone search teams, and law enforcement from both Ohio and Pennsylvania.
“The positive outcome from this investigation could not have been possible without the collaborative effort of many volunteer organizations and law enforcement agencies,” said Chief Carney.
Phillips was reunited with her family late Saturday night. As of Sunday morning, the investigation remains active, with law enforcement agencies in both states working to determine the full extent of the suspect’s actions and any additional charges.
