A local business owner is facing an additional felony charge in Crawford County Common Pleas Court. Deborah A. Miller, 64, owner of the Hideaway Country Inn located south of Bucyrus on Ohio 4, has already pleaded not guilty to three counts of theft, all third-degree felonies, during her original arraignment on March 14.
Miller was arraigned on a new charge of intimidation, a third-degree felony, on April 10 and the cases are set to be merged into one case which includes all four third-degree felony charges. She pleaded not guilty to the new charge as well.
According to court records, prosecutors also added a gun specification to each of the original three firearm theft charges. This enhancement alleges that Miller “had a firearm on or about her person or under her control while committing the offense.” Under Ohio law, a firearm specification carries mandatory prison time if convicted, regardless of the underlying charge.
Despite the additional charge, Miller remains free on a personal recognizance bond as the case proceeds. She is being represented by local attorney Joel Spitzer.
