Two Wynford graduates are proudly representing Bucyrus as they serve their country in the United States Navy.
Hunter and Bryce Sager, brothers and Bucyrus natives, both wore Kroger name tags through high school. Now, they wear Navy uniforms.
Hunter, a 2024 graduate, is currently serving as a Machinist’s Mate aboard a Navy carrier. From the time he was small, he talked about serving in the military. Now, that dream is a reality. While at Wynford, Hunter was a consistent honor roll student all four years and also attended Pioneer, where he completed the welding program.

He says the best part about Navy life so far is the brotherhood — how everyone treats each other like family.
Bryce, Wynford Class of 2025, followed close behind. He served all four years on the drumline in the marching band and also attended Pioneer, graduating this spring. Now he’s preparing for a career as a Master-at-Arms, with hopes of eventually working in the Navy’s K9 unit. For Bryce, joining the Navy was about adventure — a chance to see the world and do something meaningful.
The Sager family and the Bucyrus community are beaming with pride as both brothers carry hometown values into their service. One followed a lifelong calling, the other followed a spark for travel, but they’re walking this journey together.
