A man convicted last week of sexually abusing multiple children over a nearly two-year period has now been sentenced to life in prison.
Jeremy Long, 47, most recently of Mansfield, was found guilty by a Crawford County jury on six counts of rape and two counts of gross sexual imposition. The offenses occurred between 2016 and 2017 and involved victims ranging in age from five to fifteen.
Assistant Prosecutor Ryan Hoovler tried the case on behalf of the State of Ohio during a three-day trial before Judge Sean Leuthold in Crawford County Common Pleas Court.
At sentencing today, Judge Leuthold mentioned the impact Long's actions had on the victims as justification for imposing consecutive sentences. Long was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 35 years. If released, Long will be required to register as a Tier 3 sex offender in any county where he resides.
