BUCYRUS — A Chatfield man is facing multiple felony charges following a recent indictment by a Crawford County Grand Jury.
Christopher L. Perry, 48, of Chatfield, was indicted during the March 24, 2026 session of the January term of the Crawford County Common Pleas Court on two felony counts.
According to the indictment, Perry is charged with one count of importuning, a third-degree felony. The charge alleges that on or about March 10, 2026, in Crawford County, he solicited a victim under the age of 13 to engage in sexual activity, regardless of whether he knew the victim’s age.
He is also charged with one count of tampering with evidence, also a third-degree felony. The indictment alleges that on the same date, Perry knowingly altered, destroyed, concealed, or removed evidence with the purpose of impairing its availability in an official investigation or proceeding.
Perry appeared for arraignment on March 26 before Judge Sean E. Leuthold, who set bond at $150,000. Conditions of the bond include no contact with the alleged victim or any juveniles.
The court appointed defense attorney Joel Spitzer, who entered a not guilty plea on Perry’s behalf.
Perry remains incarcerated at the Crawford County Justice Center.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. FreeWire will continue to follow this case and provide updates as they become available.
