A Bucyrus woman is facing felony charges after a shooting incident on
Oct. 24.
Kaelyn Smith, 22, is facing one count of felonious assault and one charge of
discharging a firearm into a habitation, both second-degree felonies. The charges stem
from a shooting incident that Bucyrus Police were called to investigate at around 1:19
a.m. on Friday in the area of Reid Street and South Highland Avenue.
According to Crawford County Prosecutor Matthew Crall, Smith is accused of firing a
gun into a residence on Reid Street while the resident was home. The resident was not
injured or visible from the street, according to an eyewitness.
Bond was set for Smith in Crawford County Municipal Court on Friday afternoon in the
amount of $100,000.
Crall said if convicted, Smith faces up to 12 years in prison.
