A familiar face in the Bucyrus community is bringing fresh green energy to local lawns. Ryan Bloomfield, a lifelong resident and Wynford graduate, has officially launched Bloomfield’s Lawn Solution’s and Mowing LLC, turning years of experience mowing for friends and family into a full-fledged business.
“I’ve always had the desire to work for myself,” Bloomfield said. “I’ve been mowing as a hobby for many years, and now I’m excited to turn that into something more.” Bloomfield opened the business in mid-April 2025 and says things are growing steadily each week. “The support from the community has been overwhelming,” he said. “Bucyrus has always been home, and I’m grateful to have the chance to serve the people I’ve grown up with.”
Bloomfield runs the operation solo for now, but plans for growth are already in motion. His services go far beyond basic mowing—they include trimming, sidewalk clean-up, fertilization, weed control, grub and insect treatment, and fungus control. He also offers leaf removal in the fall and serves Bucyrus as well as surrounding areas.
One of his standout projects so far? The lawn treatments at the Bucyrus ball fields, a job that brings both pride and visibility to the new business.
Bloomfield's wife, Beth, is fully behind the new venture. “She always supports all of my crazy ideas,” he joked. While she’s not out mowing lawns, Beth does play an important role behind the scenes, keeping things running smoothly.
The couple’s son, Conner, just graduated from Wynford and will be heading to Bowling Green State University this fall, making it a season of big transitions for the entire Bloomfield family. Ryan is the son of Bill and Joyce Bloomfield. He and his wife Beth also have a daughter, Ashley, and are proud grandparents to four grandchildren.
Beyond running his new business, Ryan is deeply involved in the community. He is the Assistant Fire Chief of Holmes Township and is the Second Vice President of the Sons of the American Legion. He also continues to serve as a volunteer firefighter, balancing emergency calls with business ownership. “When the tones drop, you go and come back to work,” he said. “You do what you gotta do and just know it will all work out.”
