
Jerry A. Wheeler, age 72, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at his home in Nevada, Ohio.
Jerry was born on June 9, 1952, in Findlay, Ohio, to Donald and Katie (Inbody) Wheeler, both of whom are deceased. He married Diana Kay Spiegel on October 9, 1971, at the Emanuel United Church in rural Upper Sandusky, and she survives.
He is survived by his children, Andy (Melissa) Wheeler of Marion, and Leslie (Matt) Barto of Bucyrus. 5 grandchildren: Bryce, Allyson, Maddyson, Abbygail, and Blayne. Siblings, Edward “Yogi” (Judy) Wheeler of Bucyrus, Dale (Stephanie) Wheeler of Upper Sandusky, Mike (Nola) Wheeler of Wharton, and many nieces and nephews, along with a brother in law, Mike (Donna) Spiegel of Dunkirk, and sister in law, Beverly Wheeler, Upper Sandusky.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, brother David “Sam” Wheeler, a sister who died in infancy, a niece, Renee Spiegel, and nephew, Chad Wheeler, and his father and mother in law, Pete and Norma Spiegel.
Jerry retired as a machine maintenance man with the Timken Company after 30 years. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Church in Upper Sandusky, and a former member of the Wyandot County Coon Hunters Association, and the Wyandot County Rod and Gun Club.
For hobbies he enjoyed airplanes, and at one time was a licensed private pilot. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and riding around the village of Nevada in his Model A Buggy.
His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Jerry Wheeler will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Trinity Evangelical Church in Upper Sandusky, with Rev. Jim Stauffer officiating. Burial will follow at Nevada Cemetery.
Visitations will be held on Tuesday from 10:00am to 1:00pm at Trinity Evangelical Church.
