CRAWFORD COUNTY — A major multi-vehicle accident involving three semi-trucks and two passenger vehicles has shut down the westbound lanes of US-30 this Monday afternoon. The crash occurred between the State Route 598 (Galion) and State Route 602 (North Robinson/Bucyrus) exits.
Local authorities, including the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and the Bucyrus Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, are citing extremely dense fog as a primary factor in the pileup. A dense fog advisory was in effect for much of the morning, with visibility dropping to near-zero levels across the county.
As of 2:00 p.m., the westbound lanes remain completely closed as heavy-duty towing services work to clear the wreckage. Motorists are urged to seek alternate routes, such as State Route 309, to avoid significant delays. There has been no official word on the extent of injuries at this time. This is a developing story, and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
