
BUCYRUS — A 34-year-old Bucyrus man is heading to prison for five years following an investigation into stolen firearms and illegal possession of weapons.
Wesley Efaw was sentenced this week after pleading guilty to having weapons under disability, a third-degree felony, and one count of receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony. Efaw was the target of a Dec. 19 investigation by Bucyrus Police and the Crawford County Municipal Probation Office.
During the search, officers recovered five loaded handguns and drug paraphernalia. According to police reports, four of the five firearms had been previously reported stolen from vehicles within the city over the last year.
Efaw was sentenced to 18 months on the stolen property charge and three years on the weapons charge, to be served consecutively for a total of five years in prison. He was also ordered to forfeit all firearms involved in the investigation and pay court costs. Efaw received credit for 85 days served.
