Severe storms swept across Crawford County and surrounding areas Tuesday evening, bringing heavy winds, intense rain, and multiple tornado warnings as rotating cells moved through the region.
The Crawford County Sheriff’s Office issued several tornado warnings throughout the evening of June 18, 2025. Outdoor warning sirens were activated once during the height of the storm, with additional alerts sent out via emergency channels.
Multiple residents have reported that a tornado briefly touched down near Colonel Crawford Schools, causing scattered damage in nearby neighborhoods. Photos submitted to FreeWire show debris fields, damaged fences, toppled furniture, and other signs of strong wind activity. Based on early visuals, any potential tornado would likely rate on the lower end of the Enhanced Fujita scale (EF0 to EF1), though the National Weather Service has not yet released any official damage survey or confirmation.
In addition, several individuals from areas closer to Upper Sandusky have also reported seeing funnel clouds or possible touchdowns. At this time, those accounts remain unconfirmed, and no official reports have been issued for Wyandot County.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported as of this morning. Emergency management officials continue to assess damage across the affected areas.
FreeWire will continue to monitor updates from the National Weather Service and local officials as the situation develops.
