
Richard Allen Durigg, 77 of Bucyrus passed away peacefully on Monday February 9, 2026, at Bucyrus Community Hospital. Richard was born April 14, 1948, in Bucyrus to the late Clarence Glen Durigg and Thelma (Ulmer) Durigg. He was married August 19, 1978, to Marjorie (Kocher) Durigg who survives.
Rich is also survived by daughter Katherine (Brett) Leonberger of Westerville and son Christopher (Alexandra) Durigg of Woodsfield, OH; grandchildren Addison and Noah; brother Ramon (Joyce) Durigg of Galion; sisters Karen (Keith) Sturtz of Bucyrus and Marlene (Stephen) McCloskey of Green, OH; brother and sister in law Gene and Barb Kocher of Bucyrus; as well as nieces and nephews Melanie Skaggs, Brian Sturtz, Erika Hough, Lisa Pohlmann, Laura Sturtz, Scott Kocher, Allison Babich, and Eric Kocher.
Rich graduated from Wynford High School in 1966 and was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Navy. Throughout his life, Rich worked as an Electrician, a trade he learned from his service in the Navy. Rich last worked at Gorman Rupp for 14 years.
Rich was a faithful member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council for many years. He was also a proud member of American Legion Post 181. He enjoyed watching westerns on T.V. and military movies as well as sporting events featuring the Cleveland Browns and Indians, Ohio State, and the Wynford Royals. Rich especially enjoyed an afternoon of playing games with his grandkids and watching their sporting events and dance performances. Rich’s greatest joy in life was time spent with his family, and he especially treasured being a devoted dad and a proud grandpa.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 14 at 11:00 am in the Martin Luther Lutheran Church with Pastor Richard Genzman officiating, burial will follow in Martin Luther Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Munz-Pirnstill Funeral Home on Friday, February 13 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm.
