Kathryn E. McConnell, 44, of Crestline, has been indicted by a Crawford County Grand Jury on multiple felony charges involving allegations of sexual conduct with a victim whose ability to consent was reportedly impaired. Court records show McConnell was arrested on November 11, 2025, and the indictment was filed on November 18.
According to the indictment, the alleged offenses occurred between October 31 and November 1, 2025. Prosecutors allege McConnell engaged in sexual conduct with the victim at a time when the victim’s ability to resist or consent was substantially impaired due to a mental or physical condition or advanced age. The Grand Jury stated McConnell knew, or had reasonable cause to believe, the victim was unable to consent.
She is charged with rape, a first-degree felony under Ohio Revised Code 2907.02(A)(1)(c) and 2907.02(B).
A second count accuses McConnell of engaging in sexual activity with the victim—or causing the victim or others to engage in sexual activity—while the victim’s ability to understand or control her conduct was substantially impaired. That charge, filed under Ohio Revised Code 2907.03(A)(2) and 2907.03(B)(1), is sexual battery, a third-degree felony.
McConnell also faces an additional charge involving underage persons under Ohio Revised Code 4301.69.
Arraignment
McConnell was arraigned on November 20, 2025, via video from the Crawford County Justice Center before Judge Sean E. Leuthold. Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys Ryan Hoovler and Daniel Stanley appeared on behalf of the state. Attorney Kenzie Garverick represented McConnell for purposes of arraignment, and the court confirmed that Attorney Rob Dintaman had been appointed as her counsel moving forward.
Bond and Conditions
The court set McConnell’s bond at $150,000 cash or surety on the rape charge. No separate bond amounts were listed for the sexual battery or underage-person charges.
As part of her release conditions, McConnell must:
- Commit no violations of the law
- Attend all court hearings
- Abstain from drugs, alcohol, and drug paraphernalia
- Submit to random testing
- Have no contact with the victim
- Have no contact with any minor females who are not relatives
McConnell is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
