A Bucyrus man is facing multiple felony charges following an investigation conducted by Bucyrus City Police last week.
Wesley S. Efaw, 34, of Bucyrus, was arrested on December 9, 2025, by Bucyrus City Police. He has been charged with having weapons while under disability, a third-degree felony, and receiving stolen property, a fourth-degree felony.
According to a post published by the Bucyrus City Police Department on its official Facebook page, the arrest stemmed from a follow-up investigation conducted on December 9 by Officers Wireman and Johnson, with assistance from the Crawford County Municipal Probation Office, regarding the alleged illegal possession of firearms by a convicted felon.
Police stated that during the investigation, Efaw was reportedly found in possession of five loaded handguns and drug paraphernalia. Authorities further reported that four of the five firearms had been confirmed as stolen, with the weapons having been reported taken from vehicles within the city over the past year. Police also indicated Efaw is suspected to be the individual pictured in photos released on Sept. 1, 2025, in connection with one of the reported thefts.
Efaw was arraigned on both charges on Dec. 10, 2025, in Crawford County Municipal Court. An entry and order for fingerprinting was filed, and preliminary hearings on both charges are scheduled for December 19, 2025, at 2 p.m.
Bond was set at $100,000 cash or surety. Conditions of bond include no violations of the law, attendance at all court hearings, no use or possession of drugs, drug paraphernalia, or alcohol, submission to random testing, and no contact with the alleged victim.
The court appointed attorney T. Baumberger to represent Efaw.
Efaw is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. Further proceedings will take place in Crawford County Municipal Court.
