Meet Cam Rodgers: A Bucyrus High School Freshman with a Passion for Presidents and a Bright Future Ahead
Cam Rodgers, a 15-year-old freshman at Bucyrus High School (BHS), has always had a fascination with the presidents of the United States. From visiting historic memorials to touring presidential graves and homes, Cam’s love for American history runs deep. This passion fuels his creative side as well, as he enjoys writing and sharing stories about the presidents, keeping their legacies alive through his words.
When he’s not diving into history, Cam is making music. As a member of the BHS marching band, he plays the baritone, contributing to the school’s musical performances. Looking toward his future, Cam is exploring career options that blend his interests. He’s considering attending Pioneer Joint Vocational School to pursue a career in law enforcement, where he can apply his problem-solving skills and his passion for service. Alternatively, Cam is also intrigued by the idea of becoming a history teacher, hoping to inspire future generations with his love for the past.

At home, Cam lives with his parents, April and Art Payne, along with his brother, Cory, he also has two older brothers — Christian and Chase. The family also shares their home with several beloved pets: a Yorkie named Woollee Bear, a cat named Maverick, and a chinchilla named Cocoa, all of whom bring joy to Cam’s everyday life. One of Cam’s favorite pastimes is spending time with his Grampy, who shares his interest in law enforcement games, or going fishing at his Aunt Betty’s house. These moments offer him a peaceful escape and quality time with family, which he cherishes deeply.

Cam Rodgers is a young man with big dreams, a love for history, and a heart full of passion. Whether he’s exploring the past, playing music, or spending time with family, Cam is sure to make an impact on whatever path he chooses in the future.
